Piatti is a Mill Valley staple. The views are excellent, and the Italian dishes are second to none. The open kitchen allows each guest to get a glimpse into the process of their meal being made from scratch. The evening begins with focaccia or burrata, but the highlight of the night will be roasted chicken puttanesca or the balsamic glazed short rib. If you prefer, select a stone-fired pizza from their list of fine choices, or you can create your own. Their beverage list includes many cocktails and amaros plus plenty of wines and draft beers. Top menu choices include the steak tartare and the hamachi poppers along with the eight-ounce filet mignon and the kickin’ fried chicken. The restaurant is open daily for dinner starting at 5 p.m. They close at 8 p.m. on Sunday through Tuesday, but they remain open until 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The last seating takes place 15 minutes before closing and guests can dine inside or outdoors on the patio. Get there before 6 p.m. to take advantage of their various Happy Hour specials, including one-dollar oysters.
