Bungalow 44 is an upscale and urban restaurant in Mill Valley that is considered by many to be one of the best restaurants in the entire Bay. The bar scene is always buzzing, and the menu puts a modern twist on many classic dishes. They provide an environment where each person can simply come as they are and use only ingredients locally sourced from the surrounding area. A good deal of their produce comes directly from the Mill Valley Farmers Market, and their seafood is harvested fresh by area fishing boats. For this reason, their menu is seasonal and often rotates throughout the year.
Top menu choices include the steak tartare and the hamachi poppers along with the eight-ounce filet mignon and the kickin’ fried chicken. The restaurant is open daily for dinner starting at 5 p.m. They close at 8 p.m. on Sunday through Tuesday, but they remain open until 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The last seating takes place 15 minutes before closing and guests can dine inside or outdoors on the patio. Get there before 6 p.m. to take advantage of their various Happy Hour specials, including one-dollar oysters.
